en-ligne pour élèves français habitant à l'étranger
For several years, Virtual Classrooms has provided
online tutoring services to K-12 and college students
in the U.S. using tutors in Russia. Most of instructors
and students who have participated in our program
have greatly appreciated it and found it helpful.
Now, Virtual Classrooms is offering a new program,
which we call "Online tutoring for French Children
Abroad"
Program Summary:
Many French children live with their parents
abroad either temporarily or permanently.
Moving from France to other countries with other
languages might cause some difficulties for the
students of these parents. The purpose of this
program is to provide an on-line tutoring service
to French children who live abroad and who
need help on math and science in either French
or English. We are willing to follow the French
curriculum and coordinate tutoring with the student's
program at a French school or to provide online
tutoring following the program of a school where student studies at present time.
We are offering both individual and group tutoring
(to groups of 2-4 students).
Who our tutors are:
Most are Russian students or graduates of Novosibirsk
State University in Russia, from high schools
specialized in French language training. They
have a strong math/science background, tutoring
experience and good English and French skills.
Some of them have successfully passed the DALF
(diplome approfondi de langue francaise) exam
approved by the Education Department of France.
How it works:
We use special Internet meeting software which
allows to students and tutors to work together
online by typing text messages, drawing graphs,
diagrams and formulae on a whiteboard using the
mouse and speaking using a microphone or a headset.
This software allows the students and tutor to
communicate easily and efficiently in groups of
1-4 students. Usually the tutor and the student(s)
get on-line at the appointed time and have a 2
hour tutoring session. During the session the
tutor and the student(s) discuss math/science
concepts, work together on course material and
learn to solve problems that the student needs
help with.
What the advantages are:
- Student can work from his/her own home;
- Flexible schedule: student can choose the
time that would be convenient for him/her;
- Individual approach (individual tutoring or
small group tutoring);
- Student gets help from knowledgeable tutors skilled
in the subject mater;
- Student can get help on required subject
either in English or French;
- Student Learns Internet and computer skills;
- Having fun.
